A Wine Fermentation Artilce for Your Viewing

Wine Racks?Designed With Purpose

You can tell immediately if the owner of a liquor store truly knows their trade or simply wants to make a buck by going over to their wine display. If bottles of wine are simply displayed upon shelves in the upright position, then leave the store and go to another that actually cares about their customers because this store clear does not. Classic wine racks are designed and constructed in a specific manner and for very good reason and if a liquor store or wine retailers does not understand this then they are selling their wares with little to no regard for their more sophisticated customers.

Classic wine racks are indeed designed with purpose and you will find them in any respectable restaurant, retailer, or home. Perhaps the most important reason why racks are used for wine storage is because they store the bottles horizontally. When you store a bottle vertically for long periods of time, the flavor is altered because sediments settle to the bottom. If you are a novice, you may not be able to notice the difference in texture that comes from failing to store bottles in classic wine racks. However, if you enjoy the subtle sophistication that comes with consuming a fine wine, you will be able to tell that the flavor is unevenly distributed?particularly when you start reaching the bottom.

Of course, wine is typically shipped upright in cases but this is precisely why it should not be consumed until it has had a chance to be chilled at proper temperature and placed in a wine rack for at least a day or two. Again, these are subtle distinctions but for those of us who truly enjoy a glass of wine, the variations in flavor and texture are noticeable and can literally ruin an otherwise pleasant experience. Having classic wine racks for your home is a must unless you happen to be one of those ?wine-from-a-box? types.

Finally, having elegant wine racks for your home sends a very subtle but clear message about who you are and your understanding for the finer enjoyments in life. Classic wine racks can be purchased that sit snugly on a kitchen counter or prominently constructed into a quality baker?s rack. But no matter what, the key is to store the bottles properly so be sure to purchase premium wine racks using online resources as they have the best selection and lowest prices when compared to traditional retail venues.

Wine & Chocolate

02 Feb 2009 Printer-Friendly Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching and you know what that means—wine and chocolate! My mother is half Swiss, but her chocoholic gene was inherited from her Norwegian mother. My father is Irish and Scottish—enough said. I know I’m really not addicted to either wine or chocolate because I only consume them when they’re readily available or can be acquired without resort to extreme measures. Being a fan of wine and chocolate, I’ve

Gifts For Wine Lovers

If you are looking for the perfect gift you can give wine lovers, here are some gift suggestions.

The terra cotta wine cooler is perfect for enjoying a chilled bottle of wine during warm summer nights and other laidback moments you spend with your family and friends. The wine cooler should be soaked in cold water prior to its use to keep you wine cold for hours. In this way, you save yourself trips to the fridge, and your wine will have no messy condensation.

A heavy metal wine rack is the answer in your search of a wine rack that will not easily break nor crack. Choose the wrought iron version that displays fine workmanship in a natural smoky gray or black finish, polished with decorative silver that serves as highlights.

You may also want to check out the table wine storage rack and other large wine pedestal and wall-mounted wine storage racks. You can consider giving your wine lover friend or loved one, a copy of the wine blending and tasting kit to help him or her develop the necessary skills for wine appreciation.

A stainless steel pourer with integrated steel ball allowing for gentle and controlled pouring is also an excellent choice. It o has a special spout that prevents wine from dripping.

Another great gift for wine lovers is a wine opener that can be used for any kind of bottle or cork providing easy de-corking in seconds. You may also choose gift baskets of wine related items, such as gourmet wine and types of cheeses and other goodies.

Another ideal gift are the screw pulls that gently and professionally extract corks from reluctant bottles with four easy strokes. This durable screw allows two thousand of bottles to be opened without changing its screw.

Another glorious weekend in paradise

Sun, 13 Apr 2008 16:01:28 PDT
Gosh we are so very lucky aren’t we? The weather down here was just magnificent. While I was away doing my girly things the Mr’s were having fun too. Mr 6 had club day for the rugby club. He is in the Under 7s and this season they play ripper rugby. Because I had the camera away with me, hubby didn’t get any pics, but a friend did so hopefully I will get to scrap those all in good time. Well apparently Mr 6 became 100% obsessed with the game and had a total blast. I know from Friday night tha

This sermon was shared during closing worship for today's gathering of congregations from the Scioto Conference, Southern Ohio Synod, Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, held at Faith Lutheran Church in Jackson, Ohio.] Psalm 23 The author Flannery O’Connor once told a story which, the first time I read it, was retold by the late Lutheran theologian, Joseph Sittler. Sittler loved it and after retelling it, reflected on its meaning. It’s the story of an elderly couple who lived in the Appal

Monday Blue Streak

Mon, 14 Apr 2008 12:34:35 PDT
Colorado's Blue Laws In about two hours, Governor Ritter plans to sign a law ending the "Blue law" that prohibits the liquor stores from staying open on Sundays (effective July 1, 2008). This will devistate the artificial market for 3.2% alcohol beer at supermarkets and convenience stores on Sunday when 80% of that abomination is sold, suggesting that a more than 75% drop in 3.2 beer sales is likely. It will also make my weekend far more convenient and will make Colorado the 35th state with Sun
